We may be a little biased, but we would like to think that the Great Darke County Fair is truly the greatest county fair. Part of what makes it so great is the community of people that gathers for this event. The whole county basically shuts down just for the fair and the kids don’t start school until its over. It’s the highlight of the summer for many in our community! If you are close, we would love to see you there! Send us a message or stop by the sheep barn and look us up.
One of our favorite days is the Sunday of the fair. This is when the Lead Class is. For those of you who don’t know, lead class is where exhibitors dress in an outfit that is largely made from wool. They also will lead a sheep around the arena. The judge will score based on leadability, poise, style, and wool content.
Last year our lamb’s were led by two winners and our wool was even used in one of the outfits too!
The little girl is wearing a dress crocheted from our wool, jewelry made from felted wool balls, and a headband also crocheted from our wool!
